APRIL 2022

Among the many congresses that Torino will host in the coming months, there are two congresses that prove the value of the local academic world as a key factor in the destination's congress development.

The 11th European Conference on Solar Chemistry and Photocatalysis: Environmental Applications (SPEA11 Conference) will be held in Torino from 6 to 10 June 2022. The conference will attract more than 300 scientists from all over the world and focus on the latest chemical and physical results for scientific and technological development aimed at environmental sustainability and the use of solar energy as a primary renewable source. The effects are not only in the field of energy, but also in many other areas of research and application, such as the decontamination of air and water. The choice of Torino is due to the long tradition in research of the development of processes, materials and applications of sunlight for the transformation of gaseous and water pollutants developed at the Chemistry Department of the University of Torino.

The 9th Congress of the International Society for Cancer Metabolism (ISCaM2022 - Targeting metabolic dynamics in cancer) will take place from 29 June to 2 July at the MBC - Molecular Biotechnology Center (Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca per le Biotecnologie Molecolari) of the University of Torino. The event will attract Italian and foreign researchers specialised in the study of the role of metabolism in tumour processes, a very promising aspect for the development of new therapies. The congress, organised by CCI - Centro Congressi Internazionale, is supported by EMBO, the European Molecular Biology Organization, the most prestigious European Molecular Biology Society. The MBC Biotechnology Centre will not only host the Congress, but will also share with this international community its best research in metabolism and molecular imaging.
