MARCH 2024

For Torino and its majestic Reggia di Venaria, a new major international political event. After hosting the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe in May 2022, the intergovernmental G7 forum returns after seven years (the previous one was in 2017).

The seven major powers of the world will gather from April 28 to 30 to discuss climate, environment, and energy. The main issues addressed will be the spread of renewable energy sources; the gradual phasing out of fossil fuels, the role of hydrogen in hard-to-abate sectors, i.e., those industrial sectors that struggle the most with decarbonization; carbon capture and storage systems; the promotion of research and development of nuclear technologies; reducing methane emissions, and climate finance and support for countries that are weak in terms of energy supply.

As for energy from renewable sources, 2023 marked the first time in Europe that wind power surpassed gas.

A globally important event at the Reggia di Venaria, confirming its status as a venue for prestigious international events.
